Check the announced Escape from Playtime beta date, official signup links and what applying means. Registration does not guarantee access.
FAQ
When does the Escape from Playtime beta start?
Does signing up guarantee access?
When does the playtest start?
The developer announcement dated September 20 says the Open Beta is planned to start October 1, 2026. It does not give a launch hour, time zone, end date or wave schedule. Treat October 1 as the announced date, not a promise that every applicant will enter at midnight in their region.
The beta happens before the planned October 21 Steam Early Access launch. See the release date timeline for the difference between those stages.
How do you apply through the official link?
- Open the official developer announcement.
- Follow its FirstLook eligibility link to the official playtest signup.
- Read the current eligibility notice and provide your own information on that service.
- Watch the email address connected to the application for an invitation or next step.
The public Mob Insider page also says invited players should use the link sent to their email. We have not completed the private, logged-in application flow, so this page does not invent button names, eligibility requirements or invite-code steps.
Does signing up guarantee access?
No. The announcement says to “sign up to be considered for participation.” There are three separate states:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Application submitted | FirstLook has received an application |
| Invitation received | The applicant has been selected and sent next steps |
| Access available | The invited account can enter the beta under its current terms |
Do not pay a third party for an alleged beta key. Use only links from Mob Entertainment, the official Steam page or the official project page.
Is the playtest the same as Early Access?
No. The beta is planned for October 1, while the purchasable Steam Early Access release is planned for October 21. The developer has not published the beta end date or said that beta access automatically carries into Early Access. Current pricing is covered on the platforms and price page.
What should you check before applying?
The published PC requirements list Windows 10 or 11, DirectX 12 and at least 8 GB of RAM. Compare the full minimum and recommended requirements before expecting the game to run. The store and FAQ currently describe Windows through Steam; console and mobile versions are not confirmed.
