What is officially confirmed about the roster?

The Steam store says Early Access is planned to launch with a full eight-character roster. The developer FAQ identifies the playable group as Smiling Critters and says players explore Playtime Co. environments to extract building materials for a mysterious Voice.

The checked official text does not provide an eight-name table, character statistics or role descriptions. It would be inaccurate to import personalities or powers from other Poppy Playtime material and present them as game mechanics.

Which names are associated with the eight-character lineup?

The established Smiling Critters group is commonly cataloged with the following names, including on the existing Fandom game page. This table is a secondary-source roster lead, pending individual confirmation from official selection screens, a press kit or equivalent first-party material.

This distinction matters: an established character appearing in the wider franchise does not automatically prove that character is selectable in a particular build.

Are playable characters the same as enemies?

No such equivalence is announced. The store describes players as Smiling Critters and separately calls the threats rejected Playtime Co. creations. Characters may also appear in environmental art, story references or trailers without being playable. This page will classify each appearance only when the source shows its role clearly.

Does each Critter have a unique ability?
